María Luz Marín was named as president of the Association of Vineyards of the San Antonio Valley

July 15, 2019

We have good news! After many years, the Association of Vineyards of the San Antonio Valley was born. The grouping is formed by the Casa Marín, Garcés Silva, Ventisquero, Casas de Bucalemu, Matetic, Chocalán, Hacienda San Juan and Leyda vineyards, who will have the challenge of positioning the Valley as a producer of Premium wines, a specialist in cold weather strains . In this valley there are strains that are not well known, such as Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Gris, which makes this area even more exclusive.
In the Hacienda San Juan vineyard the official presentation of the Association was made, which is chaired by María Luz Marín, our founder and winemaker.

The brand new president, María Luz Marin, toured the history of wine in the area, her dream of concretizing the Casa Marin vineyard first and today of making known, at the national and international level, the San Antonio Valley Vineyards.
«Last week I was asked to represent the Association, which I do with great pride, is a great responsibility. I want to remember that 20 years ago, four families decided to bet on this valley, the San Antonio Valley: Viña Matetic, Casa Marín, Viña Leyda, Garces Silva; Each one went their own way and we had some instances to get together, but it never turned out, in the meantime many other vineyards arrived in the sector. Today we get together and that is a great thing, other valleys have developed precisely because they are together, that was missing and we have a great task ahead. If we enhance our tourism here in the area, there will be more overnight stays, we have to offer both national and international tourists, wine tourism, along with our coastal recipes and the joy of our people, for all that we have tasks and challenges, we have to educate and for this we have to leave for the national consumer, far removed from the wine culture ».
