LAUREL VINEYARD

Variety: Sauvignon Blanc, Davis 1 Clone

100% of the Laurel vineyard plantation is located on a hillside slope with a northeastern exposure, 4 kms. from the ocean. It is a very windy area made up of calcareous and very poor clay soil. Drip irrigation is used, and the soil had never been cultivated prior to the plantation; only native shrubs and vegetation were to be found. Morning fog from the ocean during the winter and fall lasts until noontime.

CIPRESES VINEYARD

Variety: Sauvignon Blanc, Davis 1 Clone

The Cipreses vineyard is located at the very top of a hillside slope overlooking the towns of Lo Abarca and Lo Zarate, with both a northern and southern exposure. It is an extremely windy area, which acts as a natural restraining agent on grape yield. The results are very weak vines and low productivity. Drip irrigation is used, and part of the vineyard faces the ocean.

CASONA VINEYARD

Variety: Gewurztraminer

The Casona vineyard is located in a flat plot of land in the outskirts of the town of Lo Abarca. The soil is very dark and fertile and is made up of very heavy clay. Winters are very cold, and frost, as well as early morning fog, are very prevalent during winter and spring. The vineyard has a northern and southern exposure.

ESTERO VINEYARD

Variety: Sauvignon Gris

The Estero Vineyard is located on a hillside slope overlooking the brook (“estero”) after which it is named.  It has a southern exposure and very poor soil. Soil composition in the upper half of the hillside slope is mostly made up of clay, while the lower half, closer to the “estero,” is mostly made up of sand.  The vines are lined up from North to South on a very steep hillside slope (approx. 30 to 32 degrees).

LO ABARCA HILLS

Variety: Pinot Noir, Clone 777, masal selection.

100% of the Lo Abarca Hills vineyard plantation is located on a gentle hillside slope that surrounds the town of Lo Abarca.  The soil is mainly calcareous with a small percentage of clay and lime, and the vineyard has a western exposure facing the ocean. The climate is quite windy and affects grape productivity, which increases overall quality.
